So entstand diese Szene eines „Young couple at the water“.

Seit wann leben Sie in New York und wo (Viertel) leben Sie da?

Kommerz meets Kunst? Oder respektable Kunstmesse? Was sind Ihre Gedanken dazu?

Was sind Ihre Gedanken dazu?

The FRAGER (questions that arise) At the Affordable Artfair Hamburg 2013 This interview was done! Interview:

• As I clicked through the image gallery of the Affordable Art Fair, you came to me immediately. I saw the picture “Young couple at the water,” and it made “spung”. I found an explosive mixture of feeling departure, wanderlust and homesickness.
What is your (the) background to this picture? What is the origination history?

Since I often am on Long Island, since I live there and work, I do like the water of the “Ocean” or “Long Iceland sound” very familiar. There I observe all possible pair constellations. So this scene was a “Young couple at the water”. I love even the water and am really love the sea.
This pair are many interpretations. I have spoken with many people already about this work and heard many perspectives in interpreting this situation. Your feelings as “awakening” I interpret as a new opportunity, “Wanderlust” as the longing for the element of water and the young, beautiful couple and feel “homesick” is to arrive there for me, where I belong or want to belong.

• You live in Münster and New York. Long have you lived in New York and where did you live there?

I live on Long Island since 2000th Currently in Southampton. Previously there were other places on Long Island. Contact with the City occurs mostly by train or express bus .

Münster as home-style oasis in Germany is very quiet in contrast to the “ American Life “. The dazzling , groovy New York is of course again a contrast to the quiet Long Island . So I consider myself really at three places. Incidentally, since last year I’m also often due to a gallery in Zurich.

• When I saw the flyer of the Affordable Art Fair – a young couple with gift packs – I first thought of a promotional brochure of a department store .
However, the site already shows me very exciting artist . How do you feel about the show. Commerce meets art ? Or respectable art fair ? What are your thoughts on this?

For the concept and brand new me. I am HIM positive opposite. Affordable Art – Prices die, remain on the carpet! Even Gerhard Richter does not understand why his paintings are so expensive. Art Is Like stocks traded unhealthy. The art market is, was concerned its quality, very difficult for me. So I think this exhibition type welcome.

• In the introduction to your New York exhibition “ Transparency – Transparency “ Dr. Bennie Priddy says very poetic and – I think – also aptly : “We look through a window at the window of a building across the street and sometimes see people in this building and simultaneously mirroring our window , our position , opposite the windows . “
Why do you want the show ? Which part of Angelika says “I want to show .” ? What thoughts reflects that?

I’m having this issue to the multilayered nature of the world. Every moment , every situation , every object has different facets and allows different interpretations to. We get in the “ Transparencies “ Persepktiven through which we can look at the situation or object.
My Transparencies should authorize possible transparency and permeability. The opposite of stealth / sealing machine / Complete.
Transparency also means ease unlike gravity for me.

• The aforementioned Dr. Bennie also says “ The pictures are finding that behind these fire escapes and in the skyscrapers people live , with whom we have no contact . The colors are cheerful to interpret this comment as pessimistic. “
What do you say to this interpretation or perception of Dr. Bennie ? What are your thoughts on this?

The glass is half full and not half empty!
That’s the positive way in which people could live behind these facades. I could have take the gray-black variant , prefer in my art but cheerfulness , Positive. So I take the appropriate color palette.

• As in the fairy tale it is raining gold and silver pieces from the sky. They can not afford any plant in the world . Which would be the ( by which artist )?

I can not decide . I’m always facing forward. Earlier it was determined the work of Cy Twombley or Graubner been. Or in contrast, I found, for example, some of Basqiuat also very good. Today I could not define as me.

• A world-famous musician she would ask that they design him a tattoo? Who would be the artist and which would show the tattoo?

Keith Jarrett would get from me an abstract composition with vibrant red, yellow, cyan, pink and green combined with black, expressing his pounding during his piano concertos.

• Easy – ( or at least difficult Frage what are your plans for the future where you will spend the New Year and what will you do with whom?

My next exhibition in March 2013 in Zurich . In planning an exhibition in a new gallery in Münster and last but not least is I spend New Year’s Eve with friends on Long Iceland. There I am also talking about an exhibition end -2013.
Very important is my future artistic work : The “ Transparencies “ will be determined based on new work.
